Bringing the sweet art of Mindfulness into your Daily Life
In this 6 week course you will start to explore how mindfulness practices can transform your life by navigating life’s challenges with more ease, reducing stress and anxiety and increasing clam and well-being.
You will learn how you can bring mindfulness into your everyday life as well as deepening the formal mindfulness meditation practice.
This six week course is a great opportunity to really establish a new mindfulness practice making it into a habit with the support of others in the group to share experiences both challenges and achievements.
Each week you will receive a different formal meditation to practice and many informal tools to use all day so by the end of the course you will have loads of tools for your toolbox
What to expect:
Week 1. An overview and review of what mindfulness is and how the practice can reduce our suffering and improve our experience in life finding more happiness and contentment. You will also gain a better understanding of how the brain works, some of the latest findings in neuroscience (science of the brain). You will receive new strategies to practice and have in your tool box.
Week 2. We will be exploring mindfulness and movement, introducing walking meditation and mindfulness when moving. You will also have the opportunity to experience a deep surrendering relaxation meditation
Week 3. We will begin to explore your relationship with stress and how with simple mindset shifts and easy mindfulness practices can potentially radically change your relationship with stress. We will look at straightforward easy methods to quickly improve your mood.
Week 4. You will have the opportunity to understand the “Inner critic” what its source is and how to manage it. We will begin to investigate the practice of gratitude and look at some of the recent evidence based information and then learn some effective yet simple ways to incorporate mindful gratitude into our lives by practicing the art of savoring and appreciation.
Week 5. An exploration of mindful self-compassion, what it might mean to be kind to ourselves and how to cultivate feelings of goodwill, kindness and warmth towards self and others. Developing self-compassion is to acquire an attitude of good-will towards ourselves and to be able to effectively attend to ourselves when times are tough so we can get through them stronger and wiser, you will be introduced to some really wonderful mindfulness self-compassion meditations.
Week 6. Will begin an investigation into how to become mindful of our emotions and recognising our current emotional set point and with practices begin to handle difficult emotions with greater resilience and then cultivate positive emotions using mindfulness. We will explore how our emotions contribute to our actions.
